Meeting & Scheduling Jargon · Vice President level

"Pre-read"

A "pre-read" is a document sent to meeting attendees beforehand so they can arrive informed, though in practice it is rarely opened before the meeting.

Say this instead: reading sent ahead

How "Pre-read" shows up at work

Sending a Pre-read signals preparation and respect for people's time. Actually reading one before the meeting you attend is rarer than the sender expects, which is why the first fifteen minutes of many meetings are just the presenter reading the pre-read aloud.

Buzzword

Plain English

I'll send the reading ahead by Thursday so everyone can come prepared.
