"Just following up"

"Just following up" is a phrase used at the start of a second (or third, or fourth) message to nudge someone toward responding to a previous request.

Say this instead: following up

Slightly more pointed than "just checking in," and deployed when the first nudge produced nothing. The "just" is doing its best to keep things cordial while the rest of the sentence communicates a quiet but firm impatience.
